Utah’s Office of State Treasurer has posted its qualified-depository list for the fourth quarter of 2026. The October 1 notice identifies institutions certified by the Commissioner of Financial Institutions to accept uninsured public deposits within assigned limits.
The notice reports no additions or deletions, one name change and one merger. Its institution list marks Ascent as merged into Goldenwest. This is a notation in the new list, rather than evidence that the merger occurred on October 1.
The notice also says allotments have changed with Utah deposit levels and directs public treasurers to check their institution’s current limit. The maximum allotment applies to deposits above the federal insurance limit; a zero allotment permits only insured public deposits.
Qualification is not a guarantee against loss. The notice cautions that uninsured deposits require due diligence and that exceeding an institution’s maximum allotment can expose public treasurers to statutory penalties.
For banks and credit unions, inclusion describes eligibility to receive public funds, not an award of deposits or a credit rating. Individual dollar limits are not reproduced here; the official list is the source for current institution-specific amounts.
