Ohio’s Office of Budget and Management reported October 8 that September General Revenue Fund tax receipts exceeded its forecast by $201.6 million, or 8.3%. The preliminary results left first-quarter fiscal 2027 tax receipts $230.8 million, or 3%, above the estimate.
Non-auto sales taxes were $156.2 million above the monthly forecast, while auto sales taxes were $21.7 million ahead. Personal income taxes exceeded the estimate by $28.6 million.
The Commercial Activity Tax made no contribution to the fund in September because refunds exceeded collections, the office said.
OBM said its October 13 Monthly Financial Report would provide a fuller explanation. The preliminary figures measure collections against the state’s forecast.
