Ohio nearly eliminated its gasoline and diesel taxes for 90 days, according to the Ohio Department of Taxation. Rates fell from 38.5 and 47 cents per gallon, respectively, to 0.0001 cents. The law specifies a $725 million reserve transfer to offset lost revenue.
The tax change does not establish observed pump prices or guarantee a particular total fuel bill.
