PacWest Bancorp was the holding company for Pacific Western Bank. It merged into Banc of California, Inc. on November 30, 2023.
PacWest was the accounting acquirer in the combination even though Banc of California, Inc. was the legal parent survivor. Pacific Western Bank survived the separate bank merger under the Banc of California name; the former parent and surviving bank are not interchangeable.
