The Old Point National Bank of Phoebus merged into TowneBank on September 1, 2025.
The Hampton Roads bank initially retained its name as a division during integration and is distinct from the former parent Old Point Financial Corporation.
TowneBank was organized by community bankers in 1998 and opened the following year. It grew through local relationships, affiliated services and acquisitions, reaching farther into the Carolinas with Dogwood while selling its vacation-property-management business in 2026.
