New York Fed President John Williams said September 29 that monetary policy is positioned to assess incoming data after the September increase to a 3.75%–4% target range. In his personal outlook, one further upward adjustment may be appropriate later this year. He stressed the need to prevent elevated inflation from becoming entrenched.
