Nano Banc was a commercial bank located in Southern California, with branches in Murrieta and Irvine. The FDIC’s official failed-bank record states that Nano Banc was closed and that substantially all deposit accounts were transferred to Sunwest Bank; Sunwest’s official acquisition notice says the former Nano Banc reopened as Sunwest Bank.
Inactive/closed and acquired through an FDIC-assisted transaction by Sunwest Bank; the former website now presents Sunwest Bank content.
California closed Irvine-based Nano Banc on September 25 and appointed the FDIC as receiver. Sandy, Utah-based Sunwest Bank agreed to assume substantially all deposits and purchase selected assets. Sunwest says customer access continues and the branch is scheduled to reopen under its name September 28.
The September resolution has distinct consequences for depositors, borrowers, the buyer and the receivership. Reliable service and a successful integration require more evidence than the initial acquisition announcement.
