Monzo is a digital banking group whose official site describes its mission as building a bank that makes money work for everyone. Monzo Bank Holding Group Limited was formed in April 2023 as the parent of Monzo Bank Limited and Monzo Bank Europe DAC.
The Financial Times reported October 2 that Monzo is in early-stage discussions with CVC and Advent International about selling up to a 15% stake, after takeover talks with Nubank ended over valuation. Nubank said September 30 that it was not pursuing a transaction, Reuters reported.

Axios reported September 28 that Nu Holdings had reportedly held talks about acquiring British digital bank Monzo, with reports putting Monzo’s potential value at £8–10 billion. Monzo is also considering new funding or a minority investment. Its May 2026 annual report records £1.7 billion in FY2026 revenue and £25.7 billion in deposits at March 31. Neither company has announced an agreement; the discussions and valuation remain unconfirmed.
